We never asked for your bank login.
Every other product in this category begins by asking you to hand over the credentials to your bank account. myClerkBook is built on the opposite decision, and everything else about it follows from there.
One person, building in the open.
myClerkBook is built by Miiso, a self-taught developer and designer working from Pinetown, Durban, in South Africa. There is no team page on this site because there is no team — there is one person, and telling you otherwise would be the first thing on this page you could catch us on.
The product started in January 2025, out of the ordinary problem of tracking money as a freelancer. The tools that existed all wanted the same thing first: a bank login, handed to a company you had never dealt with, so that a third-party aggregator could read your account on their behalf. That trade is presented as the price of convenience. It is worth asking who it is convenient for.
So myClerkBook does not do it. You enter what you want recorded, or you upload a document you already have. Nothing reaches into an account, because there is nothing here that could — and that is the constraint every future feature is measured against rather than a position that gets revisited when it becomes commercially inconvenient.
The work happens in public. Development decisions, design previews and honest numbers go out as they happen, and the roadmap is kept accurate rather than flattering. If you want to watch it get built, the channels are on the roadmap.
What we will not trade away.

Transparency
The roadmap says what is done and what is not, in those words, and it is the same list used internally. Where a capability is still being built this site says so rather than describing it in the present tense.
Privacy
myClerkBook has no bank connection and no aggregator behind it (not Plaid, not Finicity, not MX), and that is a permanent architectural constraint rather than a feature not yet built. There is no door here to leave open. Your books are readable only by you and the people you invite, enforced by PostgreSQL row-level security rather than by application code that could carry a bug.
Versatility
One ledger for a freelancer, several for a founder running more than one thing, and 166 currencies kept exactly as entered, with daily conversion on Premium. Desktop and mobile are on the roadmap; the web app is what exists today.
Questions go to a person.
Partnerships, press, or anything that needs an answer rather than a thread. It reaches the founder directly, because there is nobody else for it to reach.
myClerkBook is operated from South Africa, so POPIA governs how it handles personal information; GDPR applies to visitors in the European Union. Both are covered in the privacy policy.
